Student should achieve the knowledge of necessities and methodology of investigation methods of the environment, and of sampling methods of environmental samples, their sampling and preparation for analytical research. Student should also learn specific conditions of trace analysis laboratory and sources of errors, also about the critical approach to analytical results. Students should achieve the ability to plan research |

Systematic errors in the trace analysis of compounds and their sources. Specific conditions required in the environmental laboratory. Quality of the analytical procedure – precision, determination limit, selectivity. On-field sampling methodology of water, sediments or soils. Basic information about mineralization accelerated solvent extraction, drying, sieving, liofilization, digestion, mineralization, filtration - instrumentation. Selection of the proper analytical method according to the sample type and expected concentration of analyte. On-filed analysis – portable field kits. Summary parameters. Sampling and analysis of particles in the air. Environmental specimen banking and its role in the environmental analysis. Retrospective studies. Wastes analytical study. Fractionation. Biomonitoring. Mobility. Bioaccumulation. Substantive and propaganda aspects of the use of the obtained data. |
