Skrócony opis: |
The most important problems of nanoscience from physics and physics-chemistry point of view will defined and possible solutions indicated. |
Pełny opis: |
Nanoscience is definitely the challenge of the present times. The advantages of the nanoscience and nanotechnology may contribute considerably to the most important issues facilitating the development of humanity: -- efficient energy harvesting and storage -- carbon capture -- modern therapies and drug delivery systems -- continuation of exponential growth of information technologies These issues will be discussed from the physics and physico-chemistry point of view and the following topics will be addressed: - synthesis and properties of novel functional nano materials o 2D layered materials (graphene, h-BN, ™ chalcogenides, MXenes) o. hybrid structures of 2D materials - use of 2D nanostructures for novel electronic, optoelectronic, magnetic, and spintronic devices, sensors, and drug delivery systems - light-matter interaction in nano materials o plasmonics and metamaterials o 3rd generation of photovoltaics o. new generation of biological sensors o optical and photonics integrated circuits - low dimensional systems for thermoelectricity - materials for carbon capture - modeling and machine learning for nanoscience - risks and benefits of nanmaterials |
Efekty uczenia się: |
The students should get familiar with the most important problems of nano science from the physics point of view. They should be able to formulate the hot issues of nanoscience and solutions one is aiming at. |
Metody i kryteria oceniania: |
"To take home exam" - the students have to provide solutions to some problems formulated by the lecturer. The solutions should be delivered within some time after the end of the lecture. |
