Skrócony opis: |
This course aims at familiarizing students with the basic numerical methods applied in atmospheric physics. After attending to the course students will be able to make use of the current literature in the field, apply that knowledge in practice for a number of numerical solutions to the problem, write simple computer codes for analysis of physical processes in the atmosphere. This lecture is taught in English only. |
Pełny opis: |
Topics to be covered (5 out of 7) are listed below, each will be applied to specific problems in atmospheric physics: 1) Systems of linear algebraic equations 2) Systems of nonlinear equations 3) Roots of equations 4) Numerical differentiation and integration 5) Initial value problems and boundary value problems 6) Symmetric matrix eigenvalue problems 7) Introduction to optimization These topics will be applied to specific problems in atmospheric physics. |
