Physics Laboratory, 2nd Level A2

Main goal of Physics Laboratory, 2nd Level, is to involve students into advanced scientific problems. The students realize the subjects following from contemporary projects which are performed in Faculty of Physics. They work individually under supervision of scientific workers of this Faculty. One subject is realized within whole semester. The results are described in a report which is evaluated by the supervisor. His note is a basis of final note which is placed in USOS

1. Physics Laboratory, 2nd Level consists of two parts: A and B which are realized within winter and summer semester respectively. Each one corresponds to 45 hours and 5 ECTS.

2. There are two ways to realize this Laboratory:

a) in scientific groups (A1 and B1). This way is designed for the students with defined scientific preferences. They can choose a topic from the list of exercises presented on www page of the Laboratory. The exercise is performed under tutelage and supervision of scientific worker of the Faculty (PhD at least). Realization of the exercise must be preliminary agreed with the supervisor. In the case of his agreement the student has to inform about it the secretariat of the Laboratory with e-mail containing his name, the exercise topic and name of the supervisor.

New exercise can be introduced by a scientist as well. Several phrases of the description should be included in such case to the mail mentioned above. New subject must be accepted by the coordinator

After the subject realization the results should be described in report which is evaluated by the supervisor.

b) in students laboratories of Faculty of Physics. This way is designed for the students without scientific preferences and/or without experimental experience. In the first case the students perform one selected exercise in the Laboratory for Advanced. In second case the students are directed by coordinator either to Electronic Laboratory or to Laboratory for Beginners and perform 9 exercises there.

The note should be transferred to the coordinator in order to place it in USOS. There are several ways to transfer the note to Laboratory coordinator. I might be done:

- delivering the report with the note written by the supervisor to the secretariat

- sending to secretariat a scan of first page of the report with the note

- by mail from the supervisor to coordinator or to the secretariat
