Short description:

The aim of the professional trainings is encouragement of the students to a contact with a market and facilitating choice of their future professional carrier.

Full description:

The aim of the professional internship is to familiarize students with the socio-economic environment relevant to their field of study. Internships may be completed in research institutions, enterprises, and organizations that conduct scientific research, implement research results, or make use of scientific findings.

The internship supervisor, the programme director, or the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs assigns the student to an internship upon the student’s request.

A student may apply to the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs for the recognition of learning outcomes achieved through professional employment or business activity undertaken during the course of study as equivalent to the learning outcomes assigned to the internship. The student must provide documents specifying the scope of tasks performed in their employment or business activity and justifying that the substantive requirements described above have been met.

Professional internships may also be carried out at placements proposed by students. The decision in this matter is made by the internship supervisor, the programme director, or the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs, taking into account the substantive requirements described above.

Learning outcomes:

K_W09 — knows and understands the basic legal and ethical conditions related to scientific and teaching activities.

K_W11 — knows and understands the general principles of establishing and developing forms of individual entrepreneurship based on knowledge of physics.

K_K02 — is prepared to cooperate and work in a team, in various roles.

K_K03 — is prepared to appropriately set priorities necessary for accomplishing tasks defined by themselves or others.

K_K07 — is prepared to think and act in an entrepreneurial manner.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

The internship is credited based on a written substantive report in which the student presents the scope of tasks performed during the internship. The report includes the total number of internship hours and the dates of the internship. It must be confirmed by a representative of the host organization. The report is reviewed by the internship supervisor or the assistant internship supervisor, who propose the final grade for the internship.
